"Presolana" astronomical observatory

 

GACB (Gruppo Astrofili Cinisello Balsamo) is no-profit association, established in 1983 by a group of friends, united by the passion of astronomy. Aims of the group are the study and observation of the sky and its objects and the popularization of astronomy with conferences and exhibitions, held in our headquarters and in schools, libraries and other cultural associations.

Statute

The group meets every Friday (August excluded) from 9pm at Beato Carino (ex Manzoni) school, via Beato Carino 4, Cinisello Balsamo, to discuss astronomy and related scientific subjects. The lectures are free and open to everyone. They are held by members of the group, as well as external lecturers (astronomers, university lecturers, etc.). The observations are mainly held at the "Presolana" observatory in Castione della Presolana (Bergamo), established in 1991, where are free observation, opened to the public, is heald each month. Altenatively, observation are also held in other places, using instruments of our members.
 

 

Deep-sky
 

Board of Directors

GACB is the UAI (Italian Amateur Astronomer Union) delegation for Milan district. Some of its members collaborate with the GEOS (The European Group of Stellar Observation). GACB also collaborates with other Italian and foreigner amateur astronomer groups.
Our official bullettin is "Bollettino del Gruppo Astrofili di Cinisello Balsamo", issued every 4 months. We encourage every amateur astronomer, or just curious, to join or collaborate with us.
